Fruit Based Beverage Mix/Powdered Fruit Based Beverage means a product, in powder form, intended for use after dilution, obtained by blending fruit solids with nutritive sweeteners and other ingredients appropriate to the product & packed in hermetically sealed containers to prevent spoilage. It shall have colour & flavour characteristic of the named fruit. It may contain Vitamins and Minerals.
The product may contain food additives permitted in these regulations including Appendix A. The product shall conform to the microbiological requirements given in Appendix B. It shall meet the following requirements:—
Moisture (m/m) – Not more than 5.0 percent
Fruit juice content (m/m) when reconstituted by dilution according to direction for use – Not less than 5.0 percent
