- All laboratories are fully equipped to test for heavy metals in Cosmetic Products. All lab analyze the concentration of heavy metals such as cadmium, lead, arsenic, mercury and copper etc that are detected using ICP-MS or any using equipment.
- As per the national regulations it is mandatory for packaged goods and cosmetics that are imported into the country to be correctly labeled. The labels on the packaged goods must include all the required information and MRP should also be mentioned with essential details. Besides, specific information should be clearly mentioned on both inner and outer labels.
- Cosmetic testing laboratories test the cosmetic products for stability to analyse whether during their shelf life and while being in use, The cosmetics toxicology test checks whether any substance of the product or its mixture can harm the skin of the potential user.
- As a part of this test, the manufacturer can run a thorough cosmetic check to ensure it is free from all harmful microorganisms’ growth. In certain cases, the sample is also passed through a Preservative Effectiveness Test [PET] to check for the presence of bacteria, fungi, and yeast.
